I haven’t noticed much interest in the blogosphere in Maria Anastasia O’Grady’s Monday Wall Street Journal column based on Journal writers’ interview with Enrique Peña Nieto, the former governor of the state of Mexico, Mexico’s largest, which includes most of the Mexico City suburbs and has a population of 14 million (more than any U.S. state except California, Texas, New York and Florida). Peña is considered likely to be the presidential nominee of the PRI, the ruling party from 1929 to 2000, when the presidency was won by two successive candidates of the relatively conservative PAN, Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderón. There will, as I understand, be a primary for the PRI nomination and the general election will be in July 2012.
