ELECTION 2012:: Alone in NH, Huntsman sees past Iowa – AP

LACONIA, N.H. (AP) — The political world is spinning in Iowa this week. And Jon Huntsman says he doesn’t care.

The former Utah governor is hunkered down in New Hampshire, where he’s staking his entire presidential candidacy on a strong finish in the Jan. 10 Republican primary.

Huntsman is in the midst of a 13-day campaign marathon in New Hampshire while his rivals focus on Tuesday’s Iowa caucuses. But come Wednesday, the presidential contest will come to him.

Polling suggests his popularity may be growing in New Hampshire. But betting on one state is risky and Huntsman says he may leave the race if he doesn’t finish in the top three.

Huntsman tells voters he’s more electable than his rivals, but he has struggled to win over his party’s more conservative wing.
