Mitt Romney said today he believes new gun legislation is unnecessary and defended an assault-weapons ban he signed into law as Massachusetts governor.
Because the Colorado theater shootings are still fresh in the public consciousness, Romney told CNBC’s Larry Kudlow, the timing isn’t right for a policy debate on guns.
