When Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan took to the podium at the USS Wisconsin this morning, one of the first things he did was introduce the world to his family.
‘I want you to meet my family,’ he said to the cheering crowd. ‘My wife Janna, our daughter Liza, and our sons, Charlie and Sam.’
Janna and Paul Ryan’s family began in Washington D.C., where the once high-powered tax attorney took a liking to the up-and-coming Congressman from Wisconsin.
By shifting the spotlight so quickly to his wife and children, presenting himself as a devoted family man, he is getting head start on the intense media scrutiny the Ryan clan will no doubt undergo.
