Alabama isn’t one of the hotly-contested states frequented by White House hopefuls two weeks out from Election Day. Neither is Georgia or South Carolina.
But Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) will be visiting all three states this week on a fundraising swing that will take him to GOP strongholds in the Deep South.Ryan, the GOP vice-presidential candidate, will raise campaign cash Wednesday evening in Atlanta, Ga. On Friday, he’s expected to headline a breakfast fundraiser at a private residence in Greenville, S.C., followed by a luncheon fundraiser in Huntsville, Ala., according to invitations posted online by the nonprofit Sunlight Foundation.
Ryan was also set to headline a fundraiser on Thursday in Midland, Tex., Ryan was also
but according to a campaign spokesman, former vice president Dick Cheney will appear at a fundraiser in the state while Ryan campaigns in battlegrounds.
In Palm Beach, Fla., on Saturday, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney headlined what was expected to be his last campaign fundraiser. The Sunshine State was also the site of President Obama’s final fundraising event, which took place at the J.W. Marriott in Miami earlier this month.
