Samsung Electronics the worlds number one television and mobile phone maker Company is accused of being involved in some “inadequate practices” such as the employee working there are doing more overtime than allowed by law. Said an internal audit of suppliers in China.
Samsung Electronics Co. strictly denied by saying 105 suppliers found in September fining workers for late coming and absenteeism. But no such child labour issue is there.
Labor advocates are monitoring all the big companies. They found the companies like Dell Inc., Apple and Hewlett-Packard Company are giving attention to improve more their working conditions. while they caught Samsung Electronics Co. and its suppliers, seriously involved in severe labour abuses.
According to today statement Samsung Electronics said whenever tan issue is identified they take care of it. Now Samsung Electronics work on the project by taking corrective actions like implementing new hiring policies, work hours and overtime practices plan. It also keeping an eye on the development of the working condition in China.
Verifying IDs :
Samsung Electronics start strict regulations to verify the validity of each candidate and its IDs. From the year 2014 employee will not be allowed to work more than the legal hours, the company said.
According to China labour watch 105 companies in China, with a total of more than 65,000 workers found accused. And they will do another review by the end of the year of 2014.Samsung has a global name and is a very big profit earning company, which should and need to pay attention on its improvements.
Child Labour:
In a factory of Homeland Energy Group Ltd. (TSE:HEG), seven children found working below the age of 16 were involved in the act of making Samsung DVD and mobile phones.
The labour audit group discovered child labour abuses at six factories and forced unpaid overtime work more than 100 hours a month, and 11 to 12 hours standing.
